HFMA MAPs hospital revenue cycles

MAP, a strategy developed by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) to increase the efficiency of a hospital's revenue cycle, was released this week.

The MAP (Measure, Apply, Perform) strategy enables healthcare finance professionals to measure performance and apply evidence-based strategies for improvement, according to the HFMA. MAP is working with the healthcare community to establish key performance indicators for revenue cycle management (MAP Keys) and offers a web-based tool (MAP App) to track performance throughout the cycle and recommend improvements.

The HFMA honors excellence through the MAP Award and shares evidence-based lessons from the leaders at the annual MAP Event, the Westchester, Ill.-based association said.
