Siemens installs SPECT/CT at U.K. hospital
A hybrid SPECT/CT scanner from Siemens Healthcare, the Symbia T TruePoint, has been installed in the nuclear medicine department at Southend Hospital, part of Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Essex, U.K.
The Symbia T is a hybrid SPECT/CT system that combines a dual-detector variable angle gamma camera with a CT scanner for localization and diagnostic imaging and uses TruePoint SPECT/CT technology, according to the company. It will be used for various procedures including oncology, orthopedic, cardiac, lung and renal exams, said Siemens.
The system will also be equipped with IQ SPECT, Siemens’ new cardiac package, added Siemens.
