Epocrates, Covisint team up for PQRI incentives

Health IT company Epocrates has teamed up with Covisint, a Compuware company, to help medical professionals receive reimbursements from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) program.

The collaboration will help physicians in the Epocrates network benefit from the 2010 pay-for-reporting program via Covisint's DocSite program, according to Epocrates, based in San Mateo, Calif.

CMS has focused this year's PQRI program on a number of chronic conditions, including kidney disease, back pain and diabetes mellitus. Through Covisint's DocSite PQRI registry, eligible professionals can report on quality measures for those and other conditions, Epocrates stated.
