Merge ventures into LIS market with Fletcher-Flora purchase

Merge Healthcare has acquired certain assets of Fletcher-Flora Healthcare Systems, including its lab information systems (LIS) product line.

This acquisition is Merge’s first foray into the LIS market. “We believe the addition of lab information systems product line is a natural extension of our portfolio that will lead to increased EHR adoption,” said Julie Pekarek, vice president of marketing at the Milwaukee-based Merge.

“We are pleased to announce Fletcher-Flora is now a part of the Merge family of health IT solutions,” according to a statement on the website of Fletcher-Flora, which is based in Anaheim, Calif.

According to Merge, those LIS products include the web-based FFlex eSuite LIS, the hosted version FFlex eSuite ASP, the entry-level package FFlex eSuite MGR, the FFlex eLink Integration Software, as well as the original lab software LabPak LIS.
