Siemens markets Mammomat in U.S.

Siemens has released its Mammomat Inspiration full-field digital mammography system in the U.S.

Mammomat includes digital screening and diagnostic mammography, stereotactic biopsy and upgrade capability to future technologies. Erlangen, Germany-based Siemens said its system offers three anode/filter combinations, while the Opdose feature automatically selects the appropriate anode/filter combination and the lowest radiation dose given a patient's individual breast characteristics. Mammomat's Opcomp also provides automatic compression. Other features include one-click image capture and a new algorithm for breast visualization.
