Acuo and U Chicago team up on image retrieval

Acuo Technologies will collaborate with the Imaging Informatics team at the University of Chicago Medical Center to develop Acuo's DICOM Services Grid for enterprise routing.

The Services Grid receives DICOM studies from various modalities, caches and then routes the image data to the departmental PACS for diagnostic processing. Acuo's system also retains studies for access by other departments while enabling research departments to access the cache directly, via DICOM or HL7 messaging as well as through automated study retrieval from the Medical Center's Service Oriented Architecture Bus. According to Acuo, which is headquartered in Bloomington, Minn., image data will be populated with radiation dosage information.
