Iowa hospital selects Toshiba CT scanner

Great River Medical Center has selected Toshiba Medical Systems’ Aquilion Large Bore CT scanner for use at its Cancer Care Center.

The West Burlington, Iowa-based hospital chose the Aquilion Large Bore system to treat oncology patients, including breast, prostate and colon cancer patients, as well as patients undergoing IMRT.

The Large Bore system minimizes constraints imposed on treatment plans. The system permits more positioning options, which allows therapists to capture the studies needed to optimally treat all patients, according to the Tustin, Calif.-based company.
