Abbott's glucose monitoring system nets CE mark

Abbott has received CE mark for its FreeStyle InsuLinx blood glucose monitoring system that includes a mealtime insulin calculator for suggested insulin doses.

The company said its FreeStyle InsuLinx System also offers several additional features, including a touchscreen interface, automated logbook, personalization preferences and USB connectivity for reports via the new FreeStyle Auto-Assist data management software.

The system will be available in select countries within Europe beginning in May, according to the Abbott Park, Ill.-based company. It is currently not available for sale in the U.S.
