AMI nets $200K for PET & PET/CT research
The Academy of Molecular Imaging (AMI) has reported a gift of $200,000 from the Phelps Family Foundation to support further awareness and education related to PET and PET/CT diagnostic applications.
AMI will use the Phelps grant to help complete the [F-18] Sodium Fluoride (NaF) clinical trial, which currently has 300 patients enrolled. The trial is required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to add [F-18] Sodium Fluoride to the diagnostic PET and PET/CT clinical service provided to patients. The results of the AMI trial along with the results of the National Oncologic PET Registry for NaF are required by CMS to make a broad coverage decision.
