FDA gives nod to Toshibas 3T MR

Toshiba America Medical Systems has received FDA clearance for its Vantage Titan 3T open-bore MR system.

Vantage Titan’s 71 cm open-bore incorporates Pianissimo noise-reduction technology, allowing for feet-first imaging and contrast-free techniques, the Tustin, Calif.-based company said.

Toshiba offers advanced contrast-free MRA techniques such as:
  • Fresh Blood Imaging for evaluating peripheral vascular diseases of the lower legs and extremities;
  • Contrast-free Improved Angiography for visualization of smaller vessels;
  • Time-Spatial Labeling Inversion Pulse for evaluating hemodynamic, functional assessments and visualization of vascular structures; and
  • Time Space Angiography to create non-contrast time-resolved imaging.

The Vantage Titan 3T MR also utilizes Toshiba’s Atlas SPEEDER integrated coil technology that is integrated into the table, so patients do not need to be continually repositioned for many exams, the company explained.
