Aprima snaps up revenue cycle management firm

Aprima Medical Software has acquired Health Care Strategies (HCS), a developer of revenue cycle management (RCM) services, for an undisclosed sum.

Aprima offers an integrated, single application, single database practice management/EHR, as well as complete RCM services. The no-template design has an adaptive learning capability based on the provider’s style and habits, according to the Dallas-based Aprima. Its knowledge base suggests appropriate content based on the chief complaint and provider’s documentation.

Over the past five years, HCS has provided billing services to a number of Aprima clients. Aprima’s RCM offering features HCS’ service component.

The acquisition will enable the combined company to offer RCM and other value-added services as one integrated company, Aprima said.
