Arkansas hospital combines Philips PET/CT with Ambient Experience

Philips Healthcare is combining its Ambient Experience with its Gemini TF Big Bore PET/CT at Sparks Regional Medical Center, an Arkansas hospital serving more than 350,000 in the Fort Smith area.

When Sparks Regional was making the transition from a mobile PET unit to a permanent PET/CT, the staff decided to implement Philips' Ambient Experience, which brings light, color and animation to the PET/CT scanning suite, according to the North Andover, Mass.-based company. Patients can choose their own theme.

Ambient Experience design elements also are featured in two uptake rooms where patients are prepared for the imaging process before moving into the PET/CT imaging space.
