EHNAC welcomes two new commissioners
The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC), a nonprofit standards development organization and accrediting body, announced the appointment of two new commissioners. Luigi Leblanc was appointed in December 2011, while Deborah Meisner was added in February. They join 13 existing commissioners and consumer representatives from both private and public organizations and will serve the organization through 2014 and 2015, respectively.
Leblanc is the director of technology and co-owner of Zane Networks (ZaneNet), a woman-owned small business that assists organizations and groups in adopting emerging technology tools. Since 2000, Leblanc has guided health IT projects for federal, state and local governmental agencies and for the private sector. He currently leads the implementation team responsible for building out an EHR implementation in the British Virgin Islands linking a hospital, a clinic, a mobile MRI unit and three pharmacies into a community-wide exchange. Leblanc serves on the Maryland MSO advisory board, the Maryland Health Information Exchange Policy board, the Caribbean Policy Institute board and the Caribbean-American Political Action Committee.
Meisner is vice president of regulatory compliance strategy for Emdeon, a provider of revenue and payment cycle management and clinical information exchange tools. In this role, Meisner is responsible for tracking the industry standards organizations and administration simplification regulations. With more than 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry—20 of which focused on electronic data interchange—Meisner chairs the Emdeon Standards Steering Committee, in which industry standards are reviewed, developed and maintained. Meisner also is on the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange board of directors and co-chairs the Transactions and Codes Sets Subcommittee. She participates in HL7 Attachment Workgroup, CAQH CORE, National Uniform Billing Committee and the National Uniform Claim Committee.
