3M bolsters coding portfolio with CodeRyte purchase
3M has acquired CodeRyte, a developer of clinical natural language processing (NLP) and computer-assisted coding technologies for healthcare outpatient providers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
CodeRyte delivers coding information through NLP technology. Its products include CodeAssist, CodeComplete and DataScout. Since 2009, 3M has worked with CodeRyte to bring its computer-assisted coding technology to more than 60 3M clients.
CodeRyte, which according to its CEO Andrew Kapit maintains 250 clients, employs approximately 130 people at its headquarters in Bethesda, Md.
