Quality Systems nabs The Poseidon Group

Quality Systems has acquired the Poseidon Group to support the growth of its NextGen Inpatient Solutions offering.

Poseidon of Atlanta develops ED documentation and web-based EMR tools. According to the Irvine, Calif.-based Quality Systems, the acquisition will enable NextGen Inpatient Solutions to extend its suite by leveraging Poseidon's Emergency Department Information System and integrating the tool into NextGen Healthcare's current product offerings.

Upon completion of the acquisition, which closed on May 1, Carr Scott and W. Kyle Taylor, Poseidon's chief operating officer and chief technology officer, respectively, will assume senior roles within NextGen Healthcare. Poseidon's president and founder, Jeff Oyler, will serve in a consulting role centered around healthcare technology transformation.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
