FDA green-lights Siemens DR system

The FDA has cleared Siemens Healthcare's Multix Fusion digital radiography (DR) system.

Multix Fusion supports routine radiography exams, and includes a digital cassette-sized flat-panel detector, height-adjustable table with a 660-pound weight capacity and a touch screen at the overhead tube suspension for exam parameter changes at the patient’s side.

The Multix Fusion is designed to help users position patients on the system or move the digital detector. With the Multix Fusion, customers can choose from several system variants. Options range from the simplest version with ceiling-mounted tube and cassette to the complete digital x-ray system, which includes the cassette-sized flat-panel detector, table and wall stand.
