Optimal Radiology taps McKesson for billing services

Optimal Radiology in Homewood, Ala., plans to consolidate its billing operations with McKesson Revenue Management Solutions.

McKesson will provide Optimal’s physicians with revenue management services, including coding, charge entry, claims submission and follow-up, denial management, ongoing documentation education, compliance safeguards and business intelligence.

McKesson’s business reporting capabilities include McKesson Practice Focus. The web-based application enables managers to develop custom reports, helping organizations to identify and act on key business trends, McKesson said. The system also can assist in the review and re-negotiation of managed care contracts, and help monitor payer contract compliance.

Optimal provides radiology solutions for 77 physicians working at 14 hospitals in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Texas.
