HIMSS: Etiam introduces image management system

Etiam (Booth 3773), a developer of medical image connectivity technologies, is introducing Etiam-Connect, a system for communicating and managing images beyond the enterprise, whether in hard copy, CD or electronic format at the annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Las Vegas Feb 20-24.

Etiam-Connect identifies exam type, directs information to the appropriate department, enabling viewing of any image format and reconciles patient data with in-house identifiers. The system also supports imaging-related data, including documents, forms and reports.

To use the system, patient films are scanned and CDs copied into Etiam-Connect. Whether for trauma, stroke or emergency department transfer, for second opinions or for specialized care, Etiam-Connect accepts patient images and transmits them to the department or directly to PACS.

The technology provides users with a universal DICOM viewer to display images from a range of vendors. It also supports non-DICOM studies from Amicas and iSite systems.
