West Boca Diagnostic Imaging Installs First Hitachi Oval MRI in Florida

BOCA RATON, Fla.--The future of MRI imaging arrives at West Boca Diagnostic Imaging with the installation of the first Echelon Oval MR in the state of Florida. The Echelon Oval 1.5T MR system by Hitachi Medical Systems of America Inc. features the game-changing 74 cm oval shaped bore - the widest bore available in the industry offering maximum patient comfort and accommodation.

“Our goal of providing our patients with advanced technology and the most up-to-date treatment techniques is achieved through the investment in equipment like the Echelon Oval MR system,” said Mitch Feldman, Chief Executive Officer of West Boca Medical Center. “Patients are able to select West Boca Diagnostic Imaging with the confidence that they are receiving testing and treatments in a comfortable environment.”

West Boca Diagnostic Imaging offers a wide range of tests and radiological procedures in an atmosphere where patient ease is paramount. The center is equipped with advanced technology and caring medical specialists, technologists and support staff. MRI is a test that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to provide pictures of organs and structures inside the body. In many cases, MRI provides information that cannot be obtained from an X-ray, ultrasound, or CT scan. The MRI can detect changes in the normal structure and characteristics of organs or other tissues. The acquisition of the Echelon Oval MR allows people who may not have been able to get an MRI in another type of machine to get this type of testing done.

“We are very excited about our relationship with West Boca Diagnostic Imaging and are proud to see an Echelon Oval installation in a facility dedicated to the best patient experience, service, excellence and quality,” said Sheldon Schaffer, Vice President and General Manager, MRI and CT, HMSA.
