International Day of Radiology to focus on brain imaging
This Nov. 8 will mark the third annual International Day of Radiology (IDoR), a campaign that aims to help the public better understand the role of medical imaging in healthcare. This year, participating societies will focus on the theme of brain imaging.
An initiative of the European Society of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North American and the American College of Radiology, the IDoR has focused each year on a specific theme within the broader scope of medical imaging. In 2012 the theme was cancer imaging, and last year’s IDoR focused on lung imaging. This year, societies will organize activities and media outreach designed to raise awareness of the value of imaging in brain disease detection and management.
More than 60 European and 20 North American radiological societies have confirmed their participation. Twelve Latin American, 11 Asian and five African societies also will participate.
