In Texas, an imaging-based ‘mammogram for the pancreas’
Work is underway to come up with an imaging-based “mammogram for the pancreas” at Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit hospital system in the Lone Star State.

Surgical oncologist Scott Celinski, MD, the institution’s medical director of pancreatic cancer treatment and research, says his team is administering chemo regimens that are three times more effective than those of a decade ago.
“But we’re really going to make a difference through early detection so we can catch it before it gets to an advanced stage,” Celinski adds.
