Abiomed CFO Sutherby resigns

Daniel J. Sutherby, chief financial officer (CFO) of Abiomed, is resigning from his position.

The Danvers, Mass.-based cardiac medical company has named Corporate Controller Ian McLeod as principal financial officer and accounting officer on an interim basis, according to a regulatory filing.

Abiomed, in its filing, offered no further comment, other than that the company is currently finalizing an agreement with Sutherby regarding the terms of his resignation.

In August, the company made a public offering of 2.4 million shares of its common stock, after losing more than $9 million in the first quarter of this year.
