Amicas names McClennen as president and COO

PACS provider Amicas this week announced that Peter McClennen has joined the company as president and COO. He will be responsible for all operational aspects of Amicas including sales, marketing, engineering, professional services, and customer support.

McClennen, an industry veteran with nearly 15 years of experience, moves over from his post as the global general manager for GE Healthcare's IT PACS (picture archiving and communications system) business, with revenues of more than $550 million and 1,200 employees worldwide. Revenue performance of his division more than doubled in less than three years, while the company achieved worldwide market dominance for PACS.

Previously, McClennen was director of marketing for PACS for Fujifilm Medical Systems USA Inc., where he helped create and develop their web-based PACS business. He also has some background in imaging center administration.

At GE, Nathan Cabbil is serving as the interim integrated imaging solutions (IIS) business leader. An announcement of a permanent replacement is expected soon.
