CCHIT approves two more ambulatory EHR products
The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) has certified two additional ambulatory EHR products, which meet its 2007 criteria. With the new certifications, there are now eight products under the enhanced criteria.
The new certified products are eCast EMR 7.0 from eCast of Raleigh, N.C., and eClinicalWorks 7.6.15 from eClinicalWorks of Westborough, Mass.
New certification requirements this year include the capability of EHRs to electronically transmit prescriptions and refill requests to pharmacies, and to receive standards-based electronic laboratory result messages, among other factors, according to CCHIT.
