Digirad names new board chairman

The board of directors at Digirad has appointed R. King Nelson, a director and member of the audit and governance committees, as chairman of the board, effective immediately.

Nelson has more than 18 years of executive-level experience at Baxter Healthcare. He has served on Digirad's board of directors since March 2004 and is currently president and CEO of Uptake Medical.

He has held previous positions of president and chief executive officer at Kerberos Proximal Solutions and at VenPro Corporation, a medical device company that develops implants for venous vascular and cardiovascular medicine.
