GE Healthcare, Cisco offer network-based tracking

GE Healthcare Performance Solutions and Cisco have joined forces to help hospitals better manage the flow of patients, staff and equipment.

The GE-Cisco collaboration enables hospitals to deploy GE's AgileTrac platform integrated with the Cisco Unified Wireless Network and Context-Aware Software to track patients, staff and equipment with network technologies.

The combined GE and Cisco tool brings together location information about wi-fi clients, tags and wired devices with proprietary real-time location system technologies, the companies added.
