MaxMD adds security, storage to email service

MaxMD, a provider of web services to healthcare organizations, has upgraded its basic email service with automatic HIPAA-compliant audit controls and increased secure storage to 3GB for email archiving.

The Fort Lee, N.J.-based company said the expanded mdEmail service package would also incorporate mdSecureSend, a service that allows a patient, peer or business associate to initiate inbound secure messages to an mdEmail user from any PC connected to the internet.

The updates will go into effect on or before Sept. 20, the company stated.
