Medfusion buys Medem's iHealth suite

Medfusion, a provider of patient-to-provider online communication solutions, has acquired Medem's iHealth suite of services for physicians and the iHealth personal health record (PHR) solution for patients for an undisclosed sum.

Both the San Francisco-based Medem and the Cary, N.C.-based Medfusion offer PHRs for patients, allowing them to build, manage and share secure, online versions of their personal health information. With the acquisition, Medfusion added Medem's iHealthRecord PHR customers to its user base. Also, Medem's 8,000 iHealth providers will be rolled into the Medfusion Physician Network.
