PACSGear updates MediaWriter

PACSGear, a provider of document and multimedia connectivity solutions for hospitals and healthcare facilities, has released enhancements to its DICOM CD/DVD burning solution, MediaWriter.

The new MediaWriter 3.0 enhancements include the capability to burn multi-patient media, create customized media labels and record DICOM structured reports, according to the Pleasanton, Calif.-based company. The release also includes GearView, a new medical image and report viewer, which gives patients and healthcare personnel a way to view medical images and related results. When burned to media --CDs, DVDs or USB flash drive--GearView can create a portable medical record.

The software release, MediaWriter 3.0, will be featured at the 2009 meeting of the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) in Las Vegas, Aug. 9-13.
