Siemens, Microsoft to roll out personal health platform in Germany

Siemens Healthcare and Microsoft have entered into a licensing contract to introduce Microsoft HealthVault in Germany.

The joint-platform HealthVault will enable German citizens to connect to various systems run by physicians, hospitals, pharmacies and fitness facilities for a complete view of their personal health information, as well as store, share and manage their health information including immunizations, disease history and prescriptions in an online account, according to Siemens.

Siemens said it will market the platform to developers, as well as exclusively operate the platform in Germany.
