Vital Images highlights PACS, EHR interoperability
Vital Images highlighted at HIMSS 2007 in New Orleans last week its dynamic software integrations with PACS and EHR systems from various vendors, including McKesson, Emageon, Agfa, BRIT, Cerner, DR Systems, Dynamic Imaging, Eclipsys, Fuji, OpenMed, and Sectra. These partnerships have been established to providing customers with seamless enterprise-wide access to advanced visualization and analysis tools.
The company feels that more of an emphasis needs to be placed on imaging distribution, and their applications, including Vitrea and Vital Connect, are designed to provide greater functionality for both image sharing as well as remote reading. The HIMSS conference provided the company with am avenue to bring these capabilities more to the IT space, the company said.
For the first time, Vital Images demonstrated its Vital Connect 4.0 as integrated with other systems. The software is a Web-enabled medical tool that allows physicians to use PCs or notebook computers to access interactive 2D, 3D and 4D advanced visualization. ViTALConnect software enables users to review studies and perform advanced analysis remotely, including collaboration capabilities that enable multiple physicians in different locations to confer while interacting with the same data in real-time, the company said.
As for the Vitrea software, it provides advanced visualization tools that creates 2D, 3D and 4D images of human anatomy from CT and MR image data. Vitrea gives users access to intuitive clinical tools that through automation are designed to improve speed for clinical decisions and simplify workflow. Using the software, physicians have simple ways to navigate within these images to better understand disease conditions. Vitrea addresses specialists' requirements through various clinical applications for cardiac, colon, neuro and general vascular analysis, Vital Images said.
