CCHIT forms PHR task force to develop certification process
The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) has appointed a 17-member advisory task force to provide broader consumer and industry strategic guidance for its new personal health record (PHR) certification development.
The volunteer task force, composed of advocacy organizations, healthcare providers and businesses with consumer healthcare and PHR experience, will assist CCHIT in assessing the current landscape and advising on the appropriate direction for the PHR Work Group.
Mark Leavitt, MD, chair of CCHIT; and Paul Tang, MD, vice president and CIO, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, are co-chairs of the task force.
