Bracco gains presence in Latin America with purchase

Bracco Imaging has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire local subsidiaries in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico of Justesa Imagen, a distributor of contrast media in Latin America.

“With this transaction, Bracco Imaging sets another milestone in its international expansion strategy which, over the last two years, has led to establishing a direct presence in South Korea, Scandinavia and Central Eastern Europe,” said Fulvio Renoldi, Bracco's head of the global business unit imaging  of Milan, Italy-based Bracco.

For Justesa, based in Coslada, Spain, this operation represents an opportunity to reinforce its R&D strategy to produce new pharmaceutical APIs for the healthcare community. As a Diatrizoic Acid (DTA) manufacturer, Justesa is continuing its commitment to research and manufacturing activities in the fine chemistry plant in Coslada. The plant complies, since 1983, with the requirements of the FDA and allows Justesa to maintain an ongoing export operation to the U.S. market and 30 other countries.
