Celestica nabs Allied Panels

Celestica has signed a definitive agreement to acquire medical imaging company Allied Panels for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition of the Frankenburg, Austria-based Allied Panels will expand Celestica's capabilities in the healthcare diagnostics and imaging market, said the Toronto-based company. Allied Panels, which employees about 130 employees, provides services such as electro-mechanical design, firmware and software development, as well as assembly for subsystems and medical devices. It will also bring its capabilities in the field of device product lifecycle management and 3D ultrasound technology, Celestica added.

The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter, providing Celestica with a healthcare center in Europe to serve its European healthcare customers, the company added.
