Cerner to acquire Resource Systems

Cerner has reached an agreement to acquire Resource Systems, a point-of-care electronic documentation system (EDS) developer.

Resource Systems' flagship tool, CareTracker EDS is used by more than 3,000 organizations, primarily within skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, according to Kansas City, Mo.-based Cerner. CareTracker assists caregivers by recording resident care activities, including documentation of the activities of daily living.

Resource Systems’ EDS technology is complementary to Cerner’s current long-term care offerings, allowing the company to offer enhanced value through reimbursement and resident care to clients in the long-term care marketplace, Cerner added.
