Hitachi relocates ultrasound unit after Aloka purchase
Ultrasound manufacturer Hitachi Aloka Medical is planning to centralize its U.S. business in Wallingford, Conn., where it will conduct all sales, service, marketing and clinical applications support of Aloka American ultrasound equipment and Hitachi ultrasound systems. Hitachi Aloka Medical was recently created after the acquisition of Aloka by Hitachi Medical.
The company said it will continue to integrate and support both Hitachi and Aloka ultrasound products. In addition to announcing its new headquarters, the company also appointed David R. Famiglietti to general manager of Hitachi Aloka Medical America. He will oversee the company’s American and Canadian markets.
“Combining the Aloka product line with the complementary Hitachi product line will allow Hitachi Aloka Medical to broaden [its] participation and penetration of this large and diverse market,” said Don Broomfield, CEO and president of Hitachi Medical Systems America.
