Leading provider of integrated cloud solutions, Fusion, has signed a three-year, $350,000 cloud solutions contract with a multi-site radiology center based in the Midwest.

The RSNA 2016 session, "Next Generation Infrastructure for Medical Imaging," introduced participants to the importance of image sharing and exchange with regard to the quality of care a radiologist delivers.

Four breast radiologists are calling for the creation of a national imaging repository housed in the cloud and spearheaded by their specialty. 

Enterprise imaging strategies are priorities at many provider institutions. However, interoperability issues are standing between wish lists and project assignments—and IT leaders in provider organizations are wary about the potential for “unattainable image data” to set back patient care. 

TeraRecon debuted its newest lineup of image sharing solutions, at the Health Information Management and Systems Society, HIMSS’16 Annual Conference and Exhibition, held at Sands Expo and Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV, March 1 – March 3, 2016.

“Creating the Image Enabled Enterprise” was the theme of the 2015 SIIM annual meeting, held May 28–30 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, National Harbor, Md. Because this ambitious endeavor entails providing EMR access to DICOM and non-DICOM images from every hospital department and satellite site in the healthcare enterprise, it was subject of a Town Hall meeting on the first day of the conference.

As image exchange transitions to the cloud, PACS peripherals such as CD burners are incorporating this innovation into their designs.
