iMedX buys Louisiana transcription company

iMedX, a healthcare software and services company, has acquired the assets of MedTech Transcriptions, a Metairie, La.-based medical transcription company serving medical clinics in Louisiana for more than 15 years, for an undisclosed sum.

With the acquisition of MedTech, the Shelton, Conn.-based iMedX  said it will extend its customer base into Louisiana. Using iMedX's TurboScribe platform for medical transcription, MedTech customers will be able to integrate the transcribed notes with EMR products. Additionally, MedTech's customers can use iMedX's other internet-based products such as its TurboRecord—a subscription-based EMR - and their TurboRx e-prescribing product.
