Intermedix snaps up revenue cycle management firm

Intermedix, a developer of business services to the emergency healthcare services industry, has acquired the assets of Comprehensive Medical Billing Solutions (CMBS) of Oklahoma City for an undisclosed sum.

CMBS develops revenue cycle management services for hospital-based emergency physicians, focused on coding, billing and reimbursement services.

Bryan Vinyard and Robert Thomas, co-founders of CMBS, will join the Intermedix team. Vinyard will serve as executive vice president of the Intermedix emergency department revenue cycle management unit. Thomas will become a senior vice president of operations.

The companies plan to integrate their respective technologies and services, said Ken Cooke, president of the Intermedix revenue cycle management business.
