Nuance acquires Transcend

Nuance Communications has closed the acquisition of Transcend Services, an Atlanta-based medical transcription and speech editing services provider.

Nuance said it will build upon Transcend’s market leadership among small- to mid-sized hospitals by delivering voice-enabled and Clinical Language Understanding-powered offerings.

Burlington, Mass.-based Nuance will provide guidance on the financial impact of the acquisition in conjunction with its second quarter 2012 earnings release on May 10.
