RSNA: Agfa highlights integration, mobility for Impax suite
Agfa HealthCare spotlighted its Impax suite as a springboard to integrated workflow and mobility at the 96th annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), held in Chicago Nov. 28 to Dec. 3.
IMPAX 6.5 incorporates Impax RIS, PACS and reporting software in a single web-deployable desktop for management of scheduling, patient check-in, order generation, reading and reporting from inside the radiology department or from remote locations. New PACS features include guided workflows with personalized worklist management, worklist workflow to enable remote and home reporting, integrated image processing and communication tools such as instant messaging with snapshot sharing and image notes. Impax Reporting now incorporates Extended Addendum workflows and customizable templates, and TalkStation 4.1 features dictate, edit and sign workflow.
The Mortsel, Belgium-based company also highlighted Impax Kiosk, a self-serve kiosk where patients can identify themselves, check in and sign documents electronically. Impax Kiosk allows technologists to consult patient charts and record the study acquisition wherever the patient is located.
The company demonstrated the expansion of PACS into cardiology, orthopedics, women’s care, nuclear medicine and other clinical departments. Oasis for Impax, developed in cooperation with Segami, adds a nuclear medicine viewing and processing package to the Impax workstation. Similarly, Impax for Orthopedics weds orthopedic measurement and prosthetic templating with Impax to deliver orthopedic treatment planning and analysis.
Impax Data Center Viewer, powered by Xero, is a medical imaging viewer that offers uniform access to images and helps create a longitudinal image-enabled EMR.
Agfa also showed its DX-D 100 DR technology as a work-in-progress. Several portable DR detectors, such as the DX-D 20, can be used with the unit. The system is supported by Musica2, Agfa's image processing software and makes use of its NX platform.
