ScImage, NextGen offer medical image integration module
ScImage, an enterprise imaging and informatics company, has entered into an agreement with NextGen Healthcare Information Systems to jointly release a medical image integration module powered by ScImage technology that provides NextGen EHR users simultaneous access to patient- and study-centric medical images.
The NextGen Medical Image Integration Module allows images produced by various imaging modalities or commercial PACS to be accessed through a viewer inside NextGen Ambulatory EHR, according to the Los Altos, Calif.-based ScImage.
The module includes built-in modality worklist services and can capture and transfer procedural data from select modalities directly into NextGen’s clinical database.
These critical data points can be pre-populated into NextGen clinical reports or examined for outcomes investigations. The application can also replace or enhance PACS technology without the need for costly upgrades or data and image migration, while maintaining the current workflow for each clinical area, ScImage stated.
