SIIM: Carestream unveils PACS upgrade

MINNEAPOLIS--Carestream Health released Carestream PACS 11.1 at the Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual meeting last week. The newest version of its PACS has abdominal and cardiac vessel segmentation capabilities and a new user interface.

The PowerViewer embodies the 3D PACS concept with direct in-viewer applications like volumetric capabilities. Current and prior images are registered with a single click, according to the company.

The company also launched an eHealth PACS Pay-Per-Use Service, a new addition to its Carestream eHealth Managed Services (eMS) portfolio of cloud-based, fee-for-use services.
