Symmetry Medical buys J&J's surgical instrument unit for $165M
Symmetry Medical of Warsaw, Ind., is purchasing Codman & Shurtleff, Johnson & Johnson's surgical instruments business, for $165 million cash.
Raynham, Mass.-based Codman's product portfolio centers around diagnosing and treating neurological disorders.
Symmetry will combine its Specialty Surgical Instrumentation business with Codman’s offerings in the category and rename the division Symmetry Surgical, the company added.
