ACR kicks off contest to highlight innovations in imaging

The American College of Radiology announced a new contest, Tuesday, Nov. 19, aimed at improving patient outcomes through innovative approaches to imaging.

The “Champions of Imaging 3.0” contest asks radiology practices to nominate a particularly innovative imaging approach they believe builds upon concepts published in Imaging 3.0 case studies.

For the 2019-2020 competition, nominations should focus on how their use of clinical decision support or appropriate use criteria provided added value to an integrated care team, improved patient outcomes or helped manage public health. Submissions will be judged by both a panel of experts and through online social media voting.

The first round of competition goes through Feb. 28 of next year, with winners recognized at the ACR Annual Meeting in May 2020.

Future competitions will focus on other areas of radiology. Nominees can see their submissions on the ACR’s Imaging 3.0 website and posted on social media.

Entry forms can be filled out here. For more information on the contest click here.
