New ACR commission sets sights on bolstering patient-centered radiology
Practices looking for advice on how to deliver more patient- and family-centered radiologic care will soon be able to leverage resources provided by the newly created American College of Radiology (ACR) Commission on Patient Experience.
The commission, chaired by James V. Rawson, MD, FACR, will develop recommendations on how practices can enhance the patient experience and develop ways to measure radiology patient outcomes. It will also work with other ACR commissions to create tools to help members meet Merit-based Incentives Payment System and other alternative payment model requirements.
“This commission will provide tools necessary to advance and promote high-value, patient and family-centered radiologic care. Our work will help enhance radiologists’ understanding of, and participation in, new practice and payment models that promote patient-centered care,” said Rawson.
