Amirsys RADPrimer Serves Radiologists Committed to Lifelong Learning at RSNA
December 2, 2013 SLC, Utah—Amirsys presents RADPrimer 3.0, a curriculum-driven radiology learning environment, at the Radiologist Society of North America. The curriculum is the first comprehensive radiology training environment for residents, faculty, and lifelong learners. RADPrimer’s multiple curriculum levels and more than 7,000 assessment questions serve radiology professionals at all stages in their careers.
RADPrimer, which has previously been a case-based learning tool, now provides Basic and Intermediate curricula. Each curricula guides learners through targeted learning in each core discipline: Breast, Cardiac, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, Nuclear Medicine, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Thoracic, Ultrasound, and Vascular and Interventional. Also included are questions about Physics and Safety, as well as appropriateness criteria.
“The RSNA community has a wonderful spirit of continued professional growth and learning,” says Dr. Paula Woodward, Professor of Radiology at the University of Utah and President of Amirsys Publishing, Inc. “Amirsys and our team of world-renowned authors are committed to serving the needs of the community and providing tools for lifelong learning.”
Topic-driven lessons facilitate well-rounded, self-guided learning. Lessons include overviews that summarize the topic highlights, learning objectives, reading materials, and practice questions. Pre- and post-tests, associated with each module, help residents and lifelong learners measure their own learning.
RADPrimer’s more than 7,000 questions cover diagnosis, differential diagnosis, anatomy, procedures, physics, and safety. Residents and other learners can take the questions in either tutored mode or test mode. In tutored mode, trainees learn as they go, receiving tips and hints, as well as links back to important reading topics. In test mode, trainees can simulate a test-taking experience, answering questions in quick succession without hints or scoring until the end of the test.
Program administrators can use pre- and post-test scores, along with lesson-completion status, to track the progress of residents in their program and identify opportunities for improvement. Administrators can also export test scores and lesson completion statistics as reports for each resident portfolio.
