Carestream Health to provide cloud services to French hospital

University Hospital of Saint-Etienne in France has chosen Rochester, N.Y.-based Carestream Health to provide cloud archiving services to enable the hospital to collaborate with other healthcare facilities in the region.

The new contract includes the Carestream Vue Cloud PACS and Vue Cloud Archive, and will operate under a pay-as-a-service model.

Three levels of Carestream Vue Cloud Services will be implemented:
  • Distribution of images throughout the enterprise, including advanced reading tools to remote radiologists;
  • Vendor-neutral long-term storage as well as data protection and disaster recovery of clinical data such as DICOM images and XDS documents; and
  • Full PACS functionality for image review, interpretation and storage.
A control group consisting of public health and medical-social institutions in the West Rhône-Alpes Health District will oversee the project. The group aims to share the purchase of services and equipment enabling medical image archiving, communication and diagnostic services to meet the needs of group members and aid cooperation between these institutions and their partners.
