Florida Senate rejects imaging price transparency bill
The Florida State Senate has refused to consider HB 1329, which would have required imaging centers, along with other healthcare providers, to publish and post a schedule of charges for services provided to patients paying out of pocket, effective Jan. 25.
Sponsored by Richard Corcoran (R-New Port Richey), "HB 1329: Health Care Consumer Protection," would have required imaging centers to post a sign with price information for the 50 most common procedures in their waiting rooms.
The state Senate refused to introduce the bill. However, Alison B. Dudley, a lobbyist with the Florida Radiological Society, said that Corcoran is likely to revive the effort.
