Johns Hopkins' center for pediatric cardiology to install Siemens PACS
Siemens Medical Solutions and Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH) in Baltimore, Md., have signed an agreement to install Siemens' KinetDx picture archiving and communications system (PACS) in its pediatric cardiology echocardiography department in The Johns Hopkins Children's Center.
According to Siemens, the KinetDx network will digitally link the JHH pediatric echocardiography service to the greater JHH campus and remote locations throughout the region via a wide area network (WAN), for near real-time remote assessment of pediatric echo cases by JHH medical staff.
The system will also facilitate the integration of pediatric echo results and images into JHH's other information systems and electronic medical record, and provide for Web-based image distribution and automated electronic custom pediatric echocardiography reports.
